Our private dining room is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Our space guarantees an intimate experience and a touch of luxury with rich colours and leather armchairs.

We can seat up to 12 people at a spacious oval table. With a window into the upstairs kitchen and a full wall made of glass, you can enjoy a bit of privacy but still feel like a part of the action as the team prep around you.

  • A nine course tasting menu with paired wines. Perfect for those big birthday celebrations.

We enjoyed a really lovely double birthday celebration in the RL private room. Young and old had the most delectable food, three courses for all, and excellent red and white wine. Three kids thought the chateaubriand they shared the best thing they had ever eaten and the five adults loved their choices. Great service too. Thank you for making it an event to remember.

Our special family celebratory meal was held in their lovely private dining room off the kitchen. Whilst ALL the courses were beautifully presented and tasted sublime, the mackerel starter was considered the standout dish of the evening. The service was excellent; on par with the food. I was hoping this would be a special meal out, and it really was. We appreciated the special touch for my wife’s birthday along with the assured, knowledgeable and unstuffy front of house service. Along with the quality of the food and wine pairings, this made it relaxed and enjoyable, great flavours. Well what can I say, I had booked with 24hrs notice and asked if there was anything special they could do as I was treating my partner for our anniversary. I was blown away by the warm welcome complimentary bubbles for Katharine and home made elderflower drink for me. All the staff seemed to be aware of and congratulated us on our anniversary. We were greeted by the chef with complimentary gazpacho soup which was amazing! They made us feel a million dollars with the service and the food is out of this world! cooked to perfection with amazing attention to detail, beautifully fresh and well balanced meals. I highly recommend the red lion whether just for a drink or for the exquisite food or to stay in the incredible guest house/rooms.
