We have patiently grown our Red Lion family since opening in 2008. Our philosophy is to hire individuals based on who they are, rather than what they can do, and to then nurture them over time to develop them into strong, confident members of the team who are proud of how we operate and how we look after our guests and each other.

We are a small ‘family’ of passionate individuals, excited about welcoming you into our care and making you feel like family as well.

Starting quite literally with Guy, Britt and a porter (when lucky) in the recession of 2008, The Red Lion Team has grown to around 20 members, each with special roles: the front & back of house (delivering magic and smiles), housekeeping (keeping Troutbeck free of bedbugs), the 10 & 11 -year-old mini Mannings (noise contributions and snow day waitstaff) Grandma & Grandad Manning (hand churning our butter and childcare for the above).

Come along and meet us. We look forward to sharing our hospitality with you as soon as possible.

General Manager, Martin Edwards – Cool, calm and collected. Excellent at all the things no one realises have to be done to make the magic happen seemingly effortlessly!
Head Chef, Connor Barber-Starkey – An absolute warrior. After 5 years working directly under G&B he now runs the kitchen. Passionate, committed, determined…and he loves coming out of the kitchen to talk to our guests!
Anthony Mortimer – RL veteran. 10 years service and the only person Guy trusts to make that crab tart!
